The Caledonian Loop is a 250 mile bikepacking circuit that crusades north of the ancient ruins of the Antonine Wall, the Roman border to the Caledonia, the untamed northern part of Scotland that never part of the Roman Empire. The route ranges into a huge variety of landscapes, from sea lochs to mountains and from vast glens to forests, allowing the rider to experience the full grandeur of Caledonia's untamed wilderness.

Given the remoteness and challenging terrain, the route is aimed at those who have experience of multi-day mountain biking outings . Envisioned as a self-supported challenge, it can however be tackled in many ways.

A unique aspect of the route is the easy accessibility from Scotland's major city of Glasgow. The start in Bearsden can be reached by bike or train from central Glasgow. From here, the rider is very quickly out on open country and immersed in all that Scotland has to offer.
